MedAssist

MedAssist helps uninsured, low-income individuals who live or work in Summit County to access free and low-cost prescriptions medications, obtain a regular source of affordable primary care, and enroll in Medicaid, Medicare or private insurance through the Affordable Care Act.

Individuals needing assistance can call the MedAssist office and leave a message explaining your situation. You will receive a call back within one to two business days from a MedAssist staff member to verify program eligibility. Once approved, medication can be picked up from nearly any local pharmacy with a small copay.

MedAssist can help in paying for an emergency supply of medications that treat critical or life-threatening illnesses, like infections, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, and high blood pressure.

MedAssist will also assist you with enrolling in Medicaid, Medicare or private insurance through the Affordable Care Act so that you can continue to obtain prescription medications and medical care.

MedAssist can also assist you with applying for free or low-cost medications through pharmaceutical company patient assistance programs. MedAssist can help complete the necessary applications and obtain the required information from your doctor.
