WebTrendsLive Ends its Free Website Traffic Tracking Service

On September 30th, WebTrendsLive is ending its free service to nonprofits. At that point, it will being charging $35.00 per month in order for you to get statistics about visitors to your website.

But wait! There's hope! Microsoft's FrontPage 2002 now includes these traffic statistics as part of its program. Among other things, you can use this to see:

bullet Number of visits and hits per day, week, month, and year
bullet Most frequently visited pages
bullet Referring domains ... where are they coming from?

Although this is not as comprehensive as WebTrends, it does offer this service at no monthly fees ... just the cost of the software. You can get FrontPage 2002 from www.discounttech.org for $30 (an additional license costs $20).

If you are interested in seeing more advanced trafficking statistics, WebTrends info can be found at www.webtrendslive.com.

Did you know ...

When you have large spreadsheets, going to the cell you want can be downright irritating (did you ever get into that scrolling loop where you go too high or too low and can never get it just right?). So ...

PC TIP #4
Excel 1: Spreadsheet Basics

Excel has several shortcuts you can use to navigate through the spreadsheet:

bullet Move your arrow cursor to the border of your active cell. Double-click and it will take you to the last completed cell. This works with every border: left, right, top, bottom.
bullet Ctrl + Home to go to A1.
bullet To identify a cell you want to visit often, click on it and go to Insert/Name ... Define and give it a name. From then on, you can do Ctrl +G and select that name on the list to go to that cell. This can be a great time-saver if you want to see your totals quickly.
