Have you completed your survey for the Center for Nonprofit Excellece?
infolineinc.org/cnesurvey.doc

Please visit infolineinc.org/cnesurvey.doc and complete the survey. You can e-mail it back to . If completing a hard copy of the survey is easier, please just mail it back to Info Line at 474 Grant Street, Akron, Ohio, 44311 or fax it to 330-253-1137.

Please complete the survey by March 27th. When your survey is received, your organization will receive a certificate for one-half of the value of a CNE training. It’s our way of saying thank you for your input.

What Do You Want To Do?

We are in the process of examining our courses and identifying how they can be changed to best meet your needs. For example, some of you have stated that a class only about managing mail lists would be helpful. Others have suggested a class about creating forms and e-mailing them to donors or putting them on the internet.

If you have any suggestions for class topics, please send them to . Thanks!!

What We Suggest for Secretaries & Administrative Assistants

Word is such a powerful program that it's difficult to know everything it can do to make your job easier. For secretaries and administrative assistance, we suggest Word 2 through Word 5 ... they can turn you into power users!

Topics include mail merges, macros, and creating forms to send to others so they can tab-and-type (see infolineinc.org/cnesurvey.doc for an example). We also deal with a lot of advanced tools such as text wrapping, different headers and footers, switching from portrait to landscape in the same document, tracking changes (a must for those responsible for by-laws!!), etc.

And if you go through the series, you will be able to complete the Expert MOUS Exam for Word (see www.mous.net for more details). See the schedule below and register early.

Did you know ...

Selecting a vertical block of text in a table of tabbed information is impossible unless you use this neat little trick.

PC TIP #10
Microsoft Word

  • Hold down the ALT key and then drag your mouse over the text.

  • Let go of ALT and the text is now selected and you can copy it to another location or delete it.

  • NOTE:  If your column of text is inside a Word table, you will not be able to use this trick to select it.
