Project Connect collaborates with the Northeast Ohio Computer Exchange to refurbish less-than-cutting-edge computers and make them available to needy nonprofits. As a member of the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher program, their process guarantees that your data will be removed from hard drives and parts not used are disposed of in an environmentally safe manner.

Minimum requirements of donated equipment
600 MHz CPU or higher
64 MB RAM, 128 MB RAM preferred
4 GB hard drive
8x CD-ROM drive or faster
17" or larger monitor capable of displaying 16-bit color at 800x600 resolution
Optional items:
functioning keyboard/mouse
sound card/speakers
10/100 Ethernet card or 56K modem
scanners
If your equipment does not meet these minimum standards, take your computers, scanners, printers, monitors and software to Summit County's Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center facility during its regular hours of operation. Through the RET3 Job Corp (www.ret3.org), computers are either dismantled and recycled or upgraded and distributed to schools and other non-profit organizations. Click here for more information.
