Qualifications: High school diploma. -Associates degree or higher or ECE. -Medical exam. -Non-conviction statement. -Criminal background check (FBI check if not Ohio resident for past 5 years). -Three references. -First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse, Communicable Disease recognition. -90 quarter or 60 semester hours with 36 quarter or 24 semester hours in Child Development -OR- CDA -OR- Montessori credential -OR- must take 45 hours of training with 20 hours being in Child Development.

You may apply for one or both positions. Agency: The Preschool in Montrose Position: Teacher of 4 year olds. Class meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. If needed, there will also be an afternoon class from 12:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. The maximum number of students in each class is twelve (12). There are two (2) semesters of seventeen (17) weeks each. The first semester begins the week after Labor Day and the second semester ends the week before Memorial Day. The teacher is responsible for curriculum planning, preparation of materials, instruction, discipline and supervision of classroom and playground, assisted by parents. Teacher is expected to arrive at school one-half hour before class begins and stay until the room is in order. The teacher is paid for thirty (30) minutes of preparation time in addition to regular teaching time. Teacher shall attend a mandatory eight (8) hour workshop during the summer with other teachers for purposes of curriculum and activities planning and organization for the upcoming school year. Teacher will be paid his/her regular pay rate for time spent at the workshop (up to 8 hours). Teacher shall provide parents a written outline containing the teacher's plan for monthly class themes, activities, and special or other planned events for the school year. The teacher is an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees. The teacher shall attend all Board of Trustees and Officers meetings as ex-officio member to offer counsel. Attendance is expected at Orientation (August), Open House (September) and the year-end event. Teacher will be paid for these times. Any participation in parent events is voluntary. Participation in fund raising events is voluntary. If the following holidays fall on a regular class day, the teacher will be paid for that holiday also: NEOEA day, Thanksgiving Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and President’s Day. Teacher will have two (2) weeks off at Christmas and one (1) week off at Easter (Spring break). Regular pay will not be given for these breaks. The Revere School District calendar will be followed for all school breaks and snow days. Parents will be given the opportunity to evaluate teacher’s performance once per school year. The written performance evaluations shall be provided to the Board of Trustees for review. Input for newsletter is voluntary but strongly encouraged. The teacher must maintain certification by the State and take courses as mandated by the State Licensing Rules.
