Federal Register: Technical Standards Notice, July 22, 2003

Congress first directed HUD to collect data from a representative sample of existing local HMIS in the FY 1999 HUD Appropriations Act, to be included in an Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR). To guide HMIS data collection around the country, HUD released the Data and Technical Standards Notice to specify data elements and standards. The HMIS Data and Technical Standards Notice was published in the Federal Register on July 22, 2003. The notice was published for a 60 day comment period after which comments will be considered and a final notice will be published.
