Naloxone is a medication that can reverse an opioid/opiate
(like heroin or fentanyl) overdose by blocking the effects
of opioids on the brain, restoring breathing within two to eight minutes.

Naloxone has no potential for abuse, and if given to a person
not experiencing opioid overdoses, Naloxone is harmless.
It does not reverse overdoses caused by non-opioid drugs.
