THREE GOALS OF THE PROGRAM
– decrease the family member’s substance use;
– get the substance user into treatment;
– increase the concerned family member’s own happiness, independent of the substance misuser’s treatment status.

The program is offered by the Summit County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board.

The training is appropriate for anyone with a family member, close friend or other loved one suffering from drug or alcohol addiction or for paraprofessionals working with family members of addicted individuals. Expertise in substance abuse is not necessary.

The CRAFT program is an active process that utilizes role playing and other behavioral skills training exercises during sessions, and homework will be assigned between sessions.
